Over the past two years, dozens of superintendents have asked the same question: Is there a better way to “do” strategic planning? EAB’s analysis of 100+ district plans highlights why: Despite extensive investments of time and energy, the vast majority of plans settle on the same set of priorities and set unrealistic expectations for progress. As a result, over 90% of superintendents say prioritization is a constant challenge for their team.

In response, EAB researchers set out to define the problems with traditional strategic planning and how districts can alter the process to deliver inspiring results. In this session, we introduce the findings of that research. Superintendents and district leaders should watch on-demand to learn:

  • Why traditional planning delivers consistent problems.
  • Three alternative methods, each more likely to deliver direction, focus, and inspiration.
