Graduate students are making enrollment decisions differently today than even a few years ago. They are more price-sensitive, quicker to narrow options based on sticker price, and more likely to rule out programs before engaging. At the same time, new federal borrowing limits are reshaping how students finance graduate education—and how institutions compete for enrollment.
Some institutions have spent the last few months revisiting graduate and professional pricing, expanding scholarships, or both. Others are only beginning that work now that the federal changes have taken effect. But too often, those decisions happen without a coordinated strategy for pricing, financial aid, and enrollment—making it harder to predict enrollment outcomes or protect net tuition revenue.
